Consultation: making the public safer at publicly accessible locations
The UK Government is seeking views on a new ‘protect’ duty, which aims to make the public safer at publicly accessible locations, including parks, schools, beaches and public squares.
The consultation is open to the public living in the UK and Northern Ireland. It is targeted at venues, organisations, businesses, local authorities and individuals who own or operate at publicly accessible locations. The consultation may be of interest to childcare and play services, both as users of public spaces and also if the service operates from publicly accessible locations, such as leisure centres or community venues.
Respondents can answer as many or as few questions as they wish, and only focus on where the respondents have relevant views and evidence to share.
Closing date for responding to the consultation: 2 July 2021
