Play Wales developed the Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice (L2APP) qualification to respond to the needs of the play and playwork workforce in Wales.
L2APP is intended to provide a good foundation of knowledge of children’s play and a playwork approach for practitioners working face to face with children in a range of settings. It is intended to meet the needs of:
- Practitioners in childcare settings wishing to increase their understanding of playwork
- Community based holiday play schemes.
L2APP can also be offered as optional or continuing professional development training to provide better understanding and practice to a range of staff working to support play for children up to the age of 16 including: lunchtime supervisors, youth workers, childcare staff, community development and hospital staff.
This award is the entry level qualification for progression onto the Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate Playwork: Principles into Practice.
