Salary: £20,751 - £21,589 per annum

We are looking for a new Digital Communications Assistant to join our small team in Cardiff Bay.

Play Wales is an independent charity funded by the Welsh Government - our area of charitable remit is Wales.

We work to raise awareness of children and young people's need and right to play and to promote good practice at every level of decision making and in every place where children might play. We provide advice and guidance to support all those who have an interest in, or responsibility for providing for children's play so that one day Wales will be a place where we recognise and provide well for every child's play needs.

Job purpose

Digital communication is a key part of the organisations approach to communications planning and implementation. The post holder will support the Communications Manager in the development and delivery of social and digital communication strategies and organisational plans.

Main duties

This post will assist in co-ordinating digital activity across web and social media channels to support the organisation to reach its key audiences.

You will maintain our public facing websites by creating engaging, current and informative online content that will drive more visitors to our sites. You will also support the content and design of our digital communications.

Main tasks

The successful candidate will assist the Communications Manager in:

  • writing content for Play Wales websites
  • producing and sharing content for social media – and monitoring performance
  • designing and distribution of Play Wales’ publications and other materials
  • digitally marketing Play Wales publications, services and events
  • the planning and organisation of Play Wales’ events
  • liaising with printers and translators
  • responding to telephone and e-mail enquiries
  • general administrative duties.

 

It is essential that you have excellent written and spoken skills in English and Welsh, keen attention to detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude plus experience of working with effective digital communications.
