The Play Sufficiency Assessment Toolkit has been developed to provide support to all Local Authorities in fulfilling their duties, as set out in the Play Sufficiency Assessment (Wales) Regulations 2012.
The development of the toolkit was approved by the Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services, one of the Welsh Ministers, as a means of supporting the implementation of this duty. The toolkit has been prepared by Play Wales and the Welsh Government in conjunction with play providers across Wales.
The toolkit should be used with reference to the Play Sufficiency Assessment (Wales) Regulations 2012 and associated Statutory Guidance. These set out the details of the assessment that each Local Authority needs to undertake, following the commencement of Sections 11(1), 11(2), 11(5) and 11(6) of the Children and Families (Wales) Measure (2010).
The Welsh Government has updated the Play Sufficiency Assessment Toolkit and the Play Sufficiency Assessment Form - these versions should be used for preparing the Assessment which will be submitted to the Welsh Government by 31 March 2016.
